There are 7 hectares (17 acres) of forest woodland with trees producing enough fire wood for the 2 fireplaces in the main house, the wood stove in the Guest house as well as for the wood burning stove (Aga style) in the kitchen.

The forest is populated mostly with oak trees; there are some chestnuts and hazelnuts, holms, pear trees, wild cherry trees, and some fig trees. Hawthorns and other typical wood plants of this Italian woodland are also present.

Sections of the Forest was cut back and replanted 10 years ago under the supervision of the Forestry Authority as the region is has strict environmental protection codes.
